#100daysofdance (v. Cambodia): Day 16

Day 16

Where: Looking out on the Riverside from the window at The Blue Pumpkin, near St 136

Why dance?: Every day, at 5:30am and 5:30pm, groups like this gather all over the city (and probably all over Cambodia for all I know). Someone sets up shop in the front with a basic sound system and starts blasting the nnnn-ztz nnn-stz (the boom boom I mean). For about a 1000 riel (payable at the end I think), people join in for a dance aerobics class.

Because it's taken from far away -- which I framed on purpose, to show you the whole setting -- you can't see how happy the people are. The teacher was whooping it up, the ladies were bouncing and grinning away, and everyone was just heartily enjoying themselves. And that, I say, is what dance is for!!!
